Wednesday Night Stocking Team

Need/Commitment:
  • Volunteers to stock the market shelves with groceries.
  • Two weeks on and two weeks off.
Description:
  • Stock groceries from deliveries on shelves.
  • Repackage items as necessary.
  • Identify and dispose of items that are expired.
  • Help make sure the market is ready for members to have a good shopping experience.

Operations Team

Need/Commitment:
  • Volunteers to operate the Minneapolis Market when it’s open to members.
  • Once a month on Thursdays from 4:30-7PM or Saturday from 8:30-11AM.
Description:
  • Open the market.
  • Welcome members.
  • Operate the checkout counter.
  • Assist members with carrying groceries to their cars.

Second Harvest Delivery Team

Need/Commitment:
  • 3 volunteers to be at the Minneapolis Market when the Second Harvest Delivery truck comes on Mondays.
  • Once a month on Mondays from 1-3:30PM.
Description:
  • Meet the delivery truck.
  • Move all refrigerated and frozen food items from the main floor to the market in the basement.
  • Check for old and out dated packages.
  • Miscellaneous market tasks as needed.

Hope for the City Pick-up Team

Need/Commitment:
  • 6 volunteers to pick-up food from the Hope for the City warehouse in St. Louis Park and then deliver the food to the Minneapolis Market.
  • Once a month on Tuesdays from 9:15AM-11:15AM.
Description:
  • Drive to the Hope for the City warehouse and wait in queue for groceries to be loaded with after 10am.
  • Drive to Minneapolis Market and meet the other volunteer to unload the groceries.
  • Refrigerate all perishable items and leave non-perishable items next to the elevator for Wednesday night stocking team.
