Dear Minneapolis Market Sponsors,
On Thursday, January 28th the Minneapolis Market opened its doors to the community. With a room full of volunteers in lime green sweatshirts, the Market was ready for its first member! The shelves were stocked, the reusable bags were ready for packing, the membership card creator was loaded, and the coffee was brewing. It was exciting to see how the hard work of so many volunteers paid off.
Our first member walked in the doors and was greeted by our welcoming volunteer staff. He got his Membership card, filled his bag with food and found himself enjoying the company of the volunteers. I think his quote was, “I don’t really want to leave this place.” The next week, our first member returned with 6 of his friends.
One month later, we are excited to let you know that the market has 231 members! Many members have returned with friends, family and neighbors to share the resource of the Minneapolis Market. It is encouraging to know that there is such a need in the neighborhood and families are receiving much needed food.
On March 5th your credit card will be activated to begin sponsoring these new members. You pledged to sponsor between 1-5 people each month. The amount we charge your card will reflect your pledge. There are There are four Upper Room Sponsors that will not be activated until April, because we still do not have a member to use your funds. We anticipate new members to sign up each day the market is open, so we anticipate activating your card for April.
If you credit card is activated, you will see a charge of your pledge on your credit card statement each month. Thank you for being a contributing partner.
